At the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, we believe that every child is uniquely created by God, and we are dedicated to meeting each child where they are. We understand that no two children are alike, and we are committed to offering personalized support to ensure that every child’s spiritual journey is nourished, regardless of their needs. It’s not about having the child fit into our way of doing things—rather, it is about adapting our approach in order to bring the Gospel to them in a way that speaks to their heart, always conscious of their abilities and needs.
Since the start of this ministry in 2019, we have made it a priority to offer outreach and support to children with special needs. Our belief is simple: there is no child we cannot help. We believe in preparing every child for the sacraments and helping them experience the beauty of the Church’s teachings in a meaningful and accessible way.
This ministry is not only a blessing for the children, but also for the families. We aim to create a warm, caring, and loving environment where all children feel welcomed, understood, and supported, regardless of their needs. In doing so, we also extend our love and support to their families, walking with them as they navigate the challenges and joys of raising children with special needs.
We consider it a great privilege to offer this ministry, and we are honored to be part of these children's spiritual lives. Together, as a community, we are building a place where truly every child can encounter Christ's love and grow in their faith.
